With Microsoft Teams being one of the go to video conferencing and team collaboration tools these days, being able to put your own look to the experience is half the fun. Microsoft recently added to their background options to allow you to pick from a number of cool images already loaded or just blur your current environment. We’ve come across a way to upload your own personal images to enhance the environment many of us are working within during these tough times.
Paste this path %AppData%\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds\Uploads into your Windows search and hit enter.
You’ll be taken to an explorer window showing a blank folder to copy & paste your own images into. Your path should look similar to this: >This PC >Local Disk (C:)> Users > XXXX> AppData> Roaming> Teams> Backgrounds> Uploads
Once you add an image to the Uploads folder, go to your Teams app and start a meeting by clicking the “meet now” icon.
Select “Meet now”
A meeting will start with just you and now we’ll select the background. Select the fourth option in the tool bar – the ellipse – . . . “More Actions” and “Show background effects”.
A Background setting window will appear on the right hand side of the screen allowing you to choose on of the many preloaded images OR when you scroll to the bottom of the page you’ll see your uploaded images.
Choose “Apply” to set your image and enjoy a custom background when holding meetings with your friends, colleagues and customers!
